In Love with Lichen
Sources used in the design of the piece:
1. The lower portion is an interpretation of a very unusual lichen photographed by Mellanie Brown from New Zealand and found at http://www.pxleyes.com/profile/mellanieb/.
2. The tree is based on a photo I took in a nearby park,
3. next I did a photoshop collage of that tree, photos of lichen from botanical websites, a botanical drawing of falling leaves, and a woodblock print by Lucy Larcom found on Pinterest.

Soup Series: First Bowl
Making soup holds a special place in my heart. I never use recipes, each soup is an inspiration of its own. Much like any creative process there is both planning and spontaneity. Most importantly, soup is something I love to share with others.
